Teeth whitening ? It can be very expensive to have your teeth cleaned professionally, especially if you don't have dental insurance. There are, fortunately, many ways you can do this yourself at a very low cost. You'll be glad to know that a healthy, bright smile is not so hard to achieve. Not only can you avoid the dentist, you probably won't even need to leave the house to buy anything new. All that is needed are some knowledge and the appropriate, common products you may already have in your kitchen. Your teeth can start to look cleaner and white once you know about these methods and items, along with some common sense precautions you should take.
Chemical cleaners and abrasives are the two kinds of teeth whiteners that you can get. Some ingredients ask for abrasive things like salt or baking soda.
The latter will not only help to brighten your teeth, but the baking soda will help keep your breath fresher. Chemical whiteners such as hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide and substances that contain acids all work to dissolve the stains on your teeth. But, you have to understand that all of these different methods will break down the enamel on your teeth. So that means you have to use them carefully and avoid too much brushing pressure, for the abrasives, and too much frequency of use. Baking soda and peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) can be used in many different ways for whitening your teeth. In fact, peroxide is a common ingredient in professional procedures your dentist may use. The two ingredients combined can make a wonderful whitening aid. By mixing several teaspoons of each ingredient, you'll have a tooth paste. Just brush your teeth as usual. Giving the paste a little additional time won't hurt if you're sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Another uncommon method for getting teeth white is involves using wood ash. Rather than having an acid component, this item has another base that will have an whitening impact. In addition, there are abrasive qualities that will have a mechanical scrubbing action on your teeth to remove tartar, etc. But as we have said before, do not use this material a lot because it can damage your teeth's enamel. As far as cleaning your teeth goes, you just have to wet your toothbrush and then submerge it into the ash. Or, you can simply mix some with your regular toothpaste.
